Back when they initially dropped, Kobe first wore the Green Grinches on Christmas Day. Ever since then they’ve been at the top of every hooper’s Christmas wishlist. Later, Anthony Davis and PJ Tucker were the first NBA players to wear the Nike Kobe 6 Protro Reverse Grinches.
The Reverse Grinch shoe, mostly styled in a vibrant red, gets its nickname from the idea that it’s a swap of the red and green placement found on the originals. To achieve the look, Nike has decked out the whole faux-snakeskin upper, mesh tongue, and TPU overlays in various shades of red. The laces and Mamba logo on the tongue? They’ve gone all-out Grinch green, giving off that Dr. Seuss vibe. The shoes also showcase a slick black Nike Swoosh on the midfoot, and a semi-translucent red heel counter with golden Kobe branding.
The next Nike Kobe 6 Protro Reverse Grinch will release December 15, 2023, in men’s sizing, through Nike SNKRS for a price of $190 USD.
