Athletes Unlimited league‘s upcoming comprehensive television and streaming schedule includes more than 150 hours of live coverage of women’s professional basketball and volleyball competitions in early 2022! With the first ever Basketball season kicking off in January.
“We are thrilled to be bringing fans 30 basketball games and 30 volleyball matches on national TV and digital channels in 2022. All games will be available without a separate subscription, ensuring fans will have access to the games from wherever they are located.”said Jon Patricof, CEO and Co-Founder of Athletes Unlimited.
He continued, “I want to thank CBS Sports and FOX Sports for their continued support of Athletes Unlimited and welcome Bally Sports as a new partner for live game distribution. Most of the games on Bally Sports will take place before or after NHL or NBA games, ensuring a great lead-in audience for our broadcasts. For fans without cable TV, each season they will be able to watch select games for free on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.”
The Athletes Unlimited Basketball season will run from January 26, 2022 to February 26, 2022. All 30 games will be played at the Athletes Unlimited Arena at the Sports Center of Las Vegas. Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday two games will be played throughout the five-week basketball season.

It should be easy to catch Athletes Unlimited Basketball this year. Plan to watch across a number of channels:
- FOX Sports will show 14 games of Athletes Unlimited’s 30-game basketball season on FS2
- CBS Sports Network will televise 3 basketball games
- The Bally Sports regional sports networks (RSNs) will air 8 basketball games
- While 5 games for basketball will stream live across Athletes Unlimited’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts (these games will also be available to watch there afterwards anytime)

Sportico reports that notably, ESPN is not involved in any of Athletes Unlimited’s initial basketball programming, despite having televised the WNBA since the league’s debut in 1997. ESPN was an early partner of Athletes Unlimited, signing on for its first softball season alongside CBS Sports, but its involvement since has been limited to international distribution.
How to watch Athletes Unlimited Basketball’s season opener with live streams
The Athletes Unlimited Basketball season opener tips off on January 26, and will be streamed live on Athletes Unlimited’s Facebook, YouTube and Twitter channels at 8:00 PM ET. It will be followed by a second game on CBS Sports Network at 11:00 PM. ET, making for a great night of hoops.
Meanwhile FS2 will air the first of its 14 games on January 28 at 7:00 PM ET. The action-packed season concludes on Saturday, February 26 with a doubleheader on FS2 and the Bally Sports RSNs.
The Athletes Unlimited basketball broadcast team will include color commentary from Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes and former coach Carol Ross while play-by-play duties will be handled by Cindy Brunson.
Sheryl Swoopes, who was the first player signed by the WNBA, won a championship at every level of competition including three Olympic goldmedals and four WNBA titles. Sheryl also served as a color commentator for her alma mater Texas Tech.
Carol Ross, a former SEC Coach of the Year and WNBA Coach of the Year has covered women’s basketball for the SEC Network and ESPN. Cindy Brunson has served as a sports anchor, play-by-play commentator and analyst for the PAC 12, Phoenix Mercury, FOX Sports Net Phoenix, Bally Sports and ESPN.
How to watch Athletes Unlimited basketball weekly drafts
Live weekly drafts will be held every Sunday at 3:00 PM ET and stream live on Athletes Unlimited’s Facebook page starting January 23. You can see the first one here.
Athletes Unlimited basketball player Jessica Kuster, Rice’s all-time leading scorer with six seasons of international experience across Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Australia, is looking forward to getting to play stateside and getting to have family come watch.
“And then of course there’s so many great players that are going to be in this league. I think there are going to be a lot of people who might not be such familiar faces. And so there’s going to be a lot of surprises, you know. So just getting to see that. And obviously we play so much, we have a lot of games. So just really seeing how people handle that, night in and night out. Just playing hard for the entire time we’re there. I think it’s really going to bring out who people are and what you’ve really got.”
